New one stop shop for your local Plaid representatives

Ynys Môn Assembly Member Rhun ap Iorwerth’s new constituency office was officially opened today (Saturday, October 17th).

The building at 1b Church Street, Llangefni, will also house Member of European Parliament for Wales Jill Evans’ base in north west Wales, as well as the local Plaid Cymru – Party of Wales office.

The building has been named ‘Tŷ Ieuan’ after the first Plaid Cymru MP and AM for Anglesey, Ieuan Wyn Jones, who was also present to officially open the office.

Ynys Môn AM Rhun ap Iorwerth said:

“In addition to the regular surgeries I hold right across the island, Tŷ Ieuan is an ideal hub for my work representing the island as AM, but also for Plaid Cymru’s work campaigning on behalf of the island’s communities”

Jill Evans MEP added:

“Wales needs a strong voice in Europe and for me this means working closely with Rhun ap Iorwerth and the people of Anglesey.  Tŷ Ieuan will be an invaluable base so that I can continue to push for EU funding to improve the A55 and rail links on Anglesey as well as fostering Holyhead’s link with the rest of Europe through the link with Ireland.”

Councillor Llinos Medi Huws, leader of the Plaid Cymru Group on Anglesey County Council commented:

“This is an exciting time for us as a party in Anglesey with the opening of the new office.  Tŷ Ieuan is a vital contact point for the people of Anglesey with their Councillors, Assembly Member and Member of European Parliament here.”
