Rhun ap Iorwerth backs Coeliac UK’s Gluten Freevolution campaign

Ynys Môn Assembly Member Rhun ap Iorwerth has joined Coeliac UK, the national charity for people with coeliac disease, to help launch the charity’s ‘Gluten Freevolution’ campaign. It aims to further grow the range of options of safe gluten free food available outside of the home for the 1.3 million Britons on a gluten free diet.

Rhun ap Iorwerth said: “I’m delighted to show my support for this campaign. I know how difficult it can be for those on a Gluten free diet to find suitable food when eating out and how important it is that they can have confidence in what is provided. I would encourage all food businesses to get on board and start providing for the more than £100m worth of potential customers”

The Gluten Freevolution campaign kicks off during Coeliac UK’s Awareness Week (8 -14 May 2017) and aims to highlight the growing demand for improved safety, choice and availability when eating out gluten free on the move and to encourage both private and public sector caterers to provide great gluten free food that is safe from cross contamination.
