Every Child a Library Member

‘Every Child a Library Member’ was officially launched yesterday on Anglesey, an initiative to encourage children to use their libraries.

Iolo Williams was the public face for the International launch, and yesterday Rhun ap Iorwerth Anglesey’s AM joined the fun at Llangefni Library.

Iolo Williams has been to Holyhead Library that morning with Year 4 pupils from St Mary’s School, whilst Year 4 pupils from Ysgol y Graig had the pleasure of listening to his adventures as a TV presenter traveling the world, and he thanked books for inspiration and giving him the knowledge to follow his dream career.

All the children received a library card before having a chance to look for books to borrow and create food for feeding the birds using porridge, nuts and lard!

Rhun ap Iorwerth said:
“Our libraries are important resources for children and adults alike, and today they are such welcoming places, full of colour, warm and cosy – the perfect place to lose yourself in a good book!”
