Grants to help environment and local community

Ynys Mon Assembly Member Rhun ap Iorwerth has welcomed the news that two community projects on Anglesey have been awarded ‘Create Your Space’ grants by the Big Lottery Fund.

Menter Môn has secured a grant of £15,000 to promote active community stewardship of natural environments and heritage sites in the local area. Llyn Parc Mawr Community Woodland Group has secured £20,000 to transform and preserve a poorly managed area of Newborough Forest to create a space for wildlife, nature and the wellbeing of the community.

Rhun ap Iorwerth commented:

“I am pleased that two local projects have been given this funding, giving them the opportunity to develop. Both projects will be beneficial for the environment and for the local community.

“I congratulate everyone who has worked to secure these grants, and give both projects my best wishes for success in the future.”
